About Kafaalo

Kafaalo was founded in 2021 with the mission of providing relief to low-income and vulnerable communities in the Somali Region. The organization is registered with the Ethiopian Federal Authority for Civil Society Organizations with registration number 5061.

The word “Kafaalo” means “to help” in the Somali language. We believe that everyone has the right to live a life free from suffering, and we are committed to providing the help and support that people need to rebuild their lives.

We work in a variety of zones in SRS, providing food, water, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to those who are in need. We also work to provide education and training, so that people can build sustainable livelihoods and create a better future for themselves and their families.

Kafaalo is a non-profit organization, and we rely on the generosity of donors to continue our work. We are committed to transparency and accountability in our work and projects.

Our work is focused on the following areas:

  • Child protection: We work to protect children from violence, abuse, and neglect. We provide safe spaces for children to learn and grow, and we advocate for their rights.
  • Education: We work to improve access to quality education for all Ethiopians. We provide basic education, support teacher training, and build schools.
  • Healthcare: We work to improve access to quality healthcare for all Ethiopians. We provide medical care, support health education, and build clinics.
  • Economic empowerment: We work to empower Ethiopians to lift themselves out of poverty. We provide microcredit, training, and support for small businesses.
  • Youth empowerment: We work to empower Ethiopian youth to reach their full potential. We provide training, support, and opportunities for youth to voice their opinions and participate in decision-making.
  • WASH: We work to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for all Ethiopians. We build wells, latrines, and hygiene education programs.

We are committed to working with local communities to build a more just and equitable society for all Ethiopians.
